Report: Dahieh to be erased if Hezbollah attacks, Trump backs Israeli response
Hezbollah’s entry into a war in support of Iran could open the door to a broad Israeli military escalation, U.S. diplomatic sources told the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper. “This scenario includes invading into north of the Awali River; taking control of the cities of Nabatieh, Tyre and Sidon; imposing a blockade on the Rafik Hariri International Airport as well as the ports of Beirut and Tripoli; and broad destruction of Beirut's southern suburbs (Dahieh) -- which the sources described as ‘wiping it off the map,’" the daily said.
