Who we are
Globitair Ultra World Monitor (globitair.com and the Globitair app for Android) is a world monitor that shows public information about conflicts, markets, news, flights, ships and more on one globe.
What you can use without an account
You can look at the globe, the news, the markets and the community without an account. We then keep no personal data about you, apart from the short technical server logs every website keeps (IP address, time, page and browser), which are only used to keep the site running and secure.
Your account
When you create an account we store your name, your email address and a hashed password, plus the settings you choose such as your time zone, theme and notification preferences. We use them to log you in, to show your watchlists and to send the alerts you ask for. You can change them on your account page.
Watchlists, alerts and notifications
Your watchlists, trade goals and alert rules are stored with your account so the monitor can follow them for you. If you allow notifications, your browser or the app gives us a push address for this device; we only use it to send the alerts you set up, and you can turn it off at any time.
Community
Posts, photos, attachments, votes and group memberships you add to the community are shown to other users together with your display name. They are removed when you delete your account.
Payments
If you upgrade to a paid plan, the payment is handled by Stripe on its own page. We never see or store your card details; we only receive whether the payment succeeded.
Cookies and local storage
We use the WordPress login cookie to keep you signed in, and the local storage of your browser to remember choices such as the layers on the map, the time window and the theme. We do not use advertising cookies.
Content from other services
Some parts of the monitor load content straight from other services when you open them: satellite map tiles from Esri ArcGIS, country flags from flagcdn.com, live TV and webcams from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), traffic camera images from the road authority that runs the camera, and article images from the publisher. These services see your IP address when they deliver that content.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We only share it with the services above when you use them, with our hosting provider that runs the site, and when the law requires it.
How long we keep data
Your account data stays as long as you have an account. You can delete your account yourself on your account page, or ask us to. We then remove your account, watchlists, alerts, push addresses and the community posts, comments and votes you made.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can object to how we use it. You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority.
