"Shodo" Japanese calligraphy recommended for UNESCO heritage list

An evaluation body of UNESCO has recommended "shodo," the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy, for inscription on the U.N. cultural agency's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs said Thursday.
