Canada PM Mark Carney unveils budget to strengthen economy
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney unveiled his first ever budget on November 5, which set out strong ambitions for greater economic independence from the US. The "Masters of our Destiny" budget also announced generous measures for parts of the economy affected by tariffs, setting aside 44 billion Canadian dollars for impacted businesses and workers.
