Kenyan cult leader sentenced to 200 years for Shakahola forest deaths
A self-proclaimed preacher from Kenya was sentenced to 200 years in prison on Friday for murdering 191 people, mostly children, by forcing them to starve to death. Hundreds of bodies have been discovered since 2023 at the cult's base near the beach resort of Malindi, in what became known as the Shakahola forest massacre.
