Former governor of Hungarian central bank in custody
During György Matolcsy's time as head of the Hungarian National Bank, hundreds of billions of forints' worth of assets disappeared from the bank's foundation, while more and more suspicious transactions and the lavish lifestyle of his son’s business circle kept coming to light. The investigation gained momentum after the change in government and ultimately led to Matolcsy’s arrest, while an international arrest warrant was issued for his son.
